I'm not in a CSA, but we could tell this year that our local farmers were going to have a tough time because of the weather in the Spring.

Depending on when you need to sign up for next year, you could wait and see what the farming forecast will be, and then decide to sign up.

Of course that still isn't a guarantee, but it might at least give you an idea if the season will be bad.

I know how you feel. Our CSA has had an off year as well due to the weather. We only have a half share and in the spring that was enough, but the summer has been a bit sparse in terms of corn and tomatoes. We've decided to re-up for next year, and probably add in eggs and cheese because we've been eating more veggies and a wider variety of them. The kids seem to feel that if it comes in the CSA it must be okay.
