Meet Romanesco Broccoli. Brassica Oleracea If You’re Nasty.

broccoliI wish I could report how it tastes…but every time I get near it with a knife it hypnotizes me. Maybe it is right…veggies should rule the universe.

    I’m laughing out loud at your hypnosis comment. I first learned about this when I worked (briefly) in a foofy, uber cool San Francisco restaurant. It was so fun to have this stuff out on the counter – it really IS mesmerizing! PS – it tastes a lot like cauliflower.

    haha! I bought some of this at my farmers’ market last weekend. I made a cream of funky cauliflower soup with it, and it was pretty good. I think it has a bit more sugars in it than regular cauliflower, because the soup had a sweet taste to it.
